Service and Repairs
This allows
you to enter the service
or repair details for an item (equipment). These details should be recorded for occupational health and
safety reasons and to ensure that your equipment is kept in
safe and good working order.
How to add a New Service and Repair Record
- From the Main Menu, click Maintenance,
then Service & Repairs.
This opens a list of items to select from.
Note:
You cannot track service and repairs on items that have the Quantity For
Hire field set to higher than one in the items setup.
- Select the Item to service or repair.
This opens the Items window and takes you straight to the Service
& Repairs tab.
- Click the New Service button located at the bottom left side of
the window.
This opens the Maintenance Records window.

- The Service Date defaults to today's date. Adjust if
necessary.
- Enter the reason for the service/repair in the Service Reason box.
Examples: 400 Hour Service, Replace Boom Hydraulics, 1000km
Service, 5000km Service.
- Select the Service Technician completing the job.
Note: The Service
Technician list is taken from the Staff Members
list.
- Enter the Meter Reading if applicable, i.e. current hours or
mileage.
Note: The
item should be setup as a Metered item. You do this by checking
the Metered box in the Maintenance Specific Details tab in the
Items setup.
- Enter the Inspection Notes if applicable.
- Enter any expenses against the
job (such as parts and labour), by selecting items from the
Item column just as you do when creating
bookings and invoices.
- Enter when the Next Service Due by
typing in the Meter Reading hours for
the next service and or selecting a Date.
- Enter any specific comments in the Comments box.
- Click Preview to view the report
for this service and print from the preview window if
you require a hard copy.
- Select Save & Close when completed.
