Introduced just over 12 months ago the all Australian and New
Zealand HirePOS Hire Rental and Booking Software, has proved to be
the answer that small to medium sized Hire Business required.
Interviewing the 2 characters (Shayne and Pete) responsible for
the program recently, Hire and Rental Magazine asked them why the
program had gained great acceptance in an already crowded software
market.

We believe the main reason for the programs acceptance has been our
ability to listen to our clients needs and produce a program that is
simple to install, easy to use, yet adaptable to individual business

What do you guys see as the major advantages of the program?
HirePOS:
Firstly it only takes a few minutes to install and it does this
automatically from a safe link sent to the interested party.
Secondly, when it loads it comes with a demonstration database that
enables the user to see how all facets of the program work, as well
as having a blank database that enables the user to load some of
their own items, customers etc. That way they can see how HirePOS
will work in their own business.
Thirdly, there is no heavy sales pitch, just a follow-up call to see
if they need assistance with their setup and to answer any initial
queries.

What does the program cost now?
HirePOS:
Firstly there are no initial costs to load the program or to seek
advice on the best way to set it up for their business.
All pricing is available from our website, just go to: http://www.hirepos.com.au/
and select the prices tab. Each version shows what is included in
the package, and the prices for additional modules if required are
included toward the bottom of the page. Optional annual upgrade fee
costs are also included for the potential client’s reference. There
are no hidden costs and you only purchase what you need for your
business. Updated versions and additional modules and equipment can
be added at any stage.

How can the program be modified to suit a specific business?
HirePOS:
As mentioned before the success of HirePOS has been its ability to
be able to be easily modified to suit a clients business, however it
also has evolved because it now encompasses many of our client’s
ideas, eg Lag Times, Public Holidays etc, just to name a few.
Invoices with business logos, specific customised invoices,
specialist reports, additional functions that can be accessed by
preference buttons are all ways of customising the program.
The 3 versions available are also ways of optioning HirePOS to suit
your business. From the Bookings only edition that has been widely
accepted in charity organisations, to the Standard edition for those
that wish to run 3rd party Bookkeeping software and finally to our
Bookkeeping edition that has proved an absolute winner, because of
its simplicity, yet is detailed enough to satisfy the most
discerning accountant and bookkeeper.

It has been bantered around that users of other programs have
complained of lengthy setup and learning times. How would you say
HirePOS rate in these areas?
HirePOS:
We have actually had clients look at the program, install it
themselves and have had it in use the same day or next day. While
this is not the normal (we always encourage potential clients to
work with the program first), there is no reason why this cannot
happen.

Surely you must have been there to help them.
HirePOS:
Actually no. The program comes with built in help files and if that
does not do the trick, people ring us and we ring them back promptly
or they contact us through Skype or MSN to help solve their queries.
We even have the ability to have clients show us what they are doing
on their own computers in real time.
We have clients all over Australia and New Zealand and we have never
had to do an actual installation. That is the beauty of the program.
With today’s technology we find on site training costly and
unnecessary.

What if a potential client has current records of customers and
items in their present system and they don’t want to go through the
process of loading that data in HirePOS?
HirePOS:
At HirePOS that is not an issue.
If a client wants us to (and most do), all they need to do is send
us a file by via email, we import the data into a new database for
them and send it back to them, usually the same or next day. That is
all part of the service and at no additional cost.
Some files we have received have consisted of upwards of 5000
entries.

What are some of the additional features that have been added to the
program in the last 12months?
HirePOS:
Just to name a few; Holidays prompts, Lag time, issue and return
multiples of an item on the one invoice, the Availability Screen
view can now be viewed to an hourly level, Help buttons now give you
the option to open the latest help documents directly from Website,
a modified 'Returns' Screen is optioned to search by Customer or
item or a specific delivery address. Item Types can be setup as
Components as well if required which can be useful for tracking
individual item components for stock control purposes. Customers
Special Discount Prices - Discount % can now be applied to specific
items for specific customers. Optional Invoicing price function
allows the operator to print invoices in either “as entered” fashion
or by category

HirePOS has been designed to assist the users not just in keeping
a much closer eye on their equipment and being able to track it, but
to be able to see who is using it, when it is being used, but to
also generate the necessary reports that will assist you in running
the business much more efficiently.
The program does not continually challenge the user it assists them
to help solve problems such as scheduling, what equipment needs to
be purchased next, what equipment is not giving them a return and
finally it advises them and their accountants of where they can make
adjustment in their operations to give them a better return.
